The Legend about Link, Princess Zelda, the Kingdom of Hyrule and also about the main antagonist Ganon and his minions started back in 1986 on the Nintendo Entertainment System and became one of the most successful and liked video game series of all time the Legend of Zelda continues to fascinate millions of players worldwide.

Many of the enemies like the Moblins, the Darknuts and the annoying Wallmasters became recurring monsters with many sub-species, and their own lore.

The Dodongo, the Gohma (Later known as King Dodongo and Queen Gohma) and of course the evil Ganon returned in a majority of the games as Bosses and main antagonists in the series. Some of them went through a real evolution from game to game.

In some cases it was really difficult to create detailed illustrations of the classic enemies since there was nothing but a small 2D sprite of a Bubble to base the artworks on.

Nonetheless you can see the whole bestiary of the classic Legend of Zelda as part of Link’s Blacklist now. It is the first complete bestiary in our project and while we had only around ten of the enemies in 2015, all remaining ones were drawn as our special 30th Anniversary Tribute to the Legend of Zelda in the year 2016.
