Link just entered the Death Mountain Labyrinth when he saw this creature that looked at him with its one big eye…

“So here you have the Lanmola, a centipede like enemy encountered in the final dungeon of the game. I always liked them because they can be both creepy and cute with their big eyeball ^^

I spent way too long on this >.> But I’m just slow with digital art I guess. XD I got lazy on the background. At first I didn’t know what to do with it and then my friend suggested to do eyes.

Such a genius idea So now it’s filled with eyes!
I hope it looks good enough compared to the other wonderful drawings others have made for the Link’s Blacklist project. ^^ Done in Paint Tool SAI, about 9 hours. Zoom in for more detail *v*
Hope you like it!”

Link of the Twilight is a big Legend of Zelda fan as you can guess by the nickname already and her take on the classic Lanmola was her debut on Game-Art-HQ! I am super-sure it won’t be the last time we see one of the scary LoZ beasts drawn by her.

You can see her whole gallery there on dA which includes many more Legend of Zelda related fan art but also a lot of other stuff!

The Lanmola are pretty strong enemies that only appeared in the Death Mountain Labyrinth, the final dungeon of the classic Legend of Zelda. Similar to the Moldorms, Link has to attack their tails first before he can do the final Swordslash at their head. Especially the blue Lanmola can be a threat since it is even faster than the normal (red) variation.

Unlike many other enemy types from the classic Legend of Zelda, the Lanmola only returned in A Link to the Past and Link’s Awakening so far.
