1987 was the birth of many game characters we still know and play as sometimes, from Mega Man and Ryu by Capcom in their first Mega Man and Street Fighter games to the job classes created in the first Final Fantasy.

Other game series like Castlevania and Contra by Konami are still known through their sequels with different game characters than back in their first games.
