The Ghost is an recurring enemy type in the Final Fantasy games. They debuted in the first Final Fantasy (1987) and returned in almost all main series parts and also many of the spinoff Final Fantasy games.

Ghost’s are usually categorized as Undead and can be defeated by using healing spells or items. Their design changed in almost every game. In Final Fantasy VI (1994) the player can control a ghost as part of the party for a special event. In some Final Fantasy games like Final Fantasy X (2002) the Ghosts can be quite difficult enemies that can wipe out a not too trained party easily.
