Carmilla is a recurring boss and antagonist from the Castlevania series.

She made her debut as one of the bosses in Castlevania II: Simon’s Quest in 1987 on the NES and returned in around the half of all later Castlevania games. Carmilla became one of the main antagonists in Castlevania: Circle of the Moon (2001) and debuted as a playable character in the fighting game Castlevania: Judgement (2008).

Carmilla went through multiple design and role changes, her biggest appearance was probably in the two Castlevania: Lords of Shadow games where her history is explained and where she became a recurring part of the story.

Carmilla is like Dracula based on a classic vampire novel.
