Gen is one of the original Street Fighter characters, but only Ryu and Ken were actually playable characters back in 1987. He made his return in 1996 as one of the new guys in Street Fighter Alpha 2. Gen also returned in the console version of Street Fighter IV (2008) and all its updates. Gen has one of the deeper background stories of the Street Fighter characters with him being a former assassin ..having to deal with his own weaknesses as old man, being a Kung Fu expert of many styles and still searching for strong opponents who can match his skills like Akuma. Till today (2014) he is the only SF character who can switch his fighting styles during a battle, he is also one of the few SF characters who got new visual designs with every SF game /series they returned to. All in all i would say he is one of the most interesting designs from the Street Fighter series so far and a big difference to the many funny and comic-like world warriors. |

After our SF Anniversary in 2012 we started another big Street Fighter Art Collaboration in 2017 to celebrate the 30th Anniversary of the Street Fighter Series

Back in April 2012 we had a big Art Collaboration going on about the 25th Anniversary of the Street Fighter series. The goal was to get at least 2 artworks by two different artists for all 88 game characters together, we got these two excellent submissions for Gen!
