The Black Mage is a character class in the Final Fantasy Universe and debuted back in the first Final Fantasy in 1987 on the NES. This character class returned in almost every Final Fantasy game in some form, be it through characters like Vivi in Final Fantasy IX or the Black Mage Class being available as one of many classes. The Black Mage is also a playable character in the Super Mario Sports Spinoffs Mario Hoops 3on3 and Mario Sports Mix. They also appear in the Bravely Default series. Their latest appearance so far is in Final Fantasy Explorers. The Black Mage uses mainly rods as weapons but is a powerful caster of magical spells including elemental based magic as well as non-elemental attacks like Ultima. They are usually wearing pointy hats, blue cloaks and won’t show their faces! |
