Snubbull used Scary Face by c-r-o-f-t

Lara C. from the UK is a part of the Game-Art-HQ Community now since years and participated in the majority of our projects with mostly very unpopular games and game characters, she has no problem with picking Loaded for our Playstation Anniversary as example when everyone else was claiming games like Final Fantasy VII and Crash Bandicoot 🙂

Snubbul is the currently last submission by her for our Pokemon Tribute, she also drew Oddish, Beedrill and Squirtle for our Gen I Project in 2016!

That’s Lara C. for you and I am glad we have individuals like her on board! She has an amazing line-up of video game illustrations in her gallery on dA which you can see here

Scary Face

“The user frightens the target with a scary face to harshly lower its Speed stat.”

Scary Face is a Normal-type move in which the user makes a scary face at its opponent in order to intimidate them, which reduces their speed stat by 2.

This is a move that cannot be taught though TM and one that can only be learned naturally by specific Pokemon or by breeding it as an Egg Move onto certain Pokemon. In Generation V games, both Scary Face and Glare had identical appearances. The accuracy of this move was changed to 100% from Generation V onward.

It is one of the moves not picked for our Generation I Tribute, while four artists took it for our Generation II Tribute!

Snubbull used Sleep Talk by freqrexy

Bev Wooff / Freqrexy from the United Kingdom creates art since 13 years already and joined our Pokemon Tribute as one of the first artists in May already. In the end she contributed not less than eight of the 151 Pokemon for it in 2016 and returned with her excellent take on Unown in its different forms as well as Snubbull. Magby and Miltank.

She is also one of the GA-HQ Patreon Supporters and helped us to create the galleries by writing the descriptions of many of the Gen II Pokemon or their moves.

You can see a lot of drawn art but also crafted items and even cosplay in her gallery here!

Sleep Talk

“While it is asleep, the user randomly uses one of the moves it knows.”

Sleep Talk will randomly select and use a move while the user is asleep (it will fail if the user is not sleeping).  It can use moves that have no PP left as it deducts from Sleep Talk’s remaining PP.

Disabled or unselectable moves cannot be chosen. It is currently only used by Snubbull in our Tribute.

#209 – Snubbull

“While it may appear gruff and grumpy, deep down, Snubbull is a kind and caring Pokémon.”

Snubbull is a pink, bulldog-like Pokémon with blue polka dots covering its body. Loose skin covering the lower part of its body gives it the appearance of a dress. Despite its pronounced under-bite, it has powerful jaws.

Though it looks fierce, it is very playful, affectionate, devoted, and loyal. It prefers to frighten its opponents rather than fight.

In the Pokemon mini movie, ‘Pikachu’s Vacation’, a group of four Pokemon could be seen bullying Pikachu and its friends, among them was a Raichu, Cubone, Marill and Snubbull. Snubbull was seen to be somewhat of a leader to the group of four and fought with Pikachu a lot. As the second generation hadn’t been officially incorporated into the anime at that stage, people were astounded to see two generation II Pokemon in this movie; Snubbull and Marill.
