The first Street Fighter was released in August 1987 for Arcades and introduced some of the fighting game basics already that are a standard till today. Only Ryu and Ken were playable though, all others were unplayable CPU controlled enemies.

Geki, Joe, Lee, Mike and Retsu were only mentioned in some of the later games but actually they never became playable characters. Only Ryu, Ken and the Street Fighter I Boss, Sagat returned in the sequel. Interestingly, the co-director of the game, Takashi Nishiyama left Capcom to work on games like Fatal Fury for SNK.

We started our Street Fighter Anniversary Tribute on the 11th December 2016 with the first Street Fighter. In Mid February, all 24 illustrations were done. The Street Fighter I Anniversary Logo was done by Viperxmns.

The 12 galleries were done by Shinragod and myself during the 17-25th February with the goal to have everything ready on the last February weekend 2016 and continue with the Street Fighter II round in March, we estimate an April release with all 19 Ultra Street Fighter II characters.
