Ho-Oh used Sacred Fire by Kiriko-Windgeist

Kiriko-Windgeist is one of the German artists that participated in our Pokémon Tribute in 2016 and also returned when we announced the Generation II Project. She drew the male Nidoran as well as Ekans in 2016 and continued with the majestic Ho-Oh in 2017!

Like myself she likes Wolves and animals in general and created a lot of art related to these beautiful beings which you can see here!

Sacred Fire

“The target is razed with a mystical fire of great intensity. It may also leave the target with a burn”

Sacred Fire is a Fire Type Move that debuted in the Generation II Pokemon games and deals fire-damage with a strong Power stat of 100 and a 95% accuracy. Sacred Fire also has a 50% chance of burning the opponent.

So far, Entei and Ho-Oh were able to learn this strong move in our Pokemon Tribute.

Ho-Oh used Sunny Day by Yggdrassal

Yggdrassal from the United States is an active part of the Game-Art-HQ Community since around three years now and contributed a good couple of video game artworks that are about games that are rarely getting any attention now.

He participated with a Timesplitters 3 entry as example and Rocket: Robots on Wheels as part of our Nintendo 64 Tribute this year. He joined the Pokémon Gen I Tribute with Dodrio in the first May week already and drew seven more of the little Gen I creatures. He also holds the record of the most submissions for our Gen II Pokemon tribute with not less than 11 of the 100 Pokemon being illustrated by him!

Gen I

I recommend to check out his gallery where you can see a lot more video game fan art including more Pokémon love as well.

Sunny Day

Makes the weather sunny for five turns. When sunny, Fire-type moves are more powerful.

Sunny Day is a Fire-Type move that debuted in the Gen II games and is not directly damaging the opponents but buff’s up Fire Type Moves while it decreases the Power of Water-Type moves. Its super effective against the right opponents.

The Sunny Day effect lasts for five rounds and can change the outcome of a battle easy if used wisely.

Sunny Day is currently used by four of the Pokemon in our Tribute!

#250 Ho-Oh

It will reveal itself before a pure-hearted Trainer by shining its bright, rainbow-colored wings.

Ho-Oh is a legendary Fire/Flying Pokemon and is the guardian of the skies. It is the mascot of Pokemon Gold, as well as its remake, Pokemon HeartGold and appears in the title screen as well as being the main legendary the player can capture in the game.

It has a mythical power that allows it to resurrect the dead and was able to resurrect three nameless Pokemon that had died in a fire at the Tin Tower, turning them into Entei, Raikou and Suicune. If someone witnesses Ho-Oh, it is said that they will gain eternal happiness.

It played a major role in the movie ‘Pokemon: I choose You’ in which Ash was chosen by Ho-Oh to receive one of its feathers and in turn become the ‘Rainbow Hero’ that would travel to challenge Ho-Oh in a battle. Ash managed to get there in the end, using his Pikachu to battle against the legendary bird.
