Dodrio used Tri-Attack by Yggdrassal

Yggdrassal from the United States is an active part of the Game-Art-HQ Community since around two years and contributed a good couple of video game artworks that are about games that are rarely getting any attention now.

He participated with a Timesplitters 3 entry as example and Rocket: Robots on Wheels as part of our Nintendo 64 Tribute this year. He joined the Pokémon Tribute with Dodrio in the first May week already and drew seven more of the little Gen I creatures. I recommend to check out his gallery where you can see a lot more video game fan art including more Pokémon love as well.

“The user strikes with a simultaneous three-beam attack. May also burn, freeze, or leave the target with paralysis”

The Tri-Attack is classified as a Normal-Type attack and is available since the first Pokemon games. While it dealt only raw damage to the opponent in the Gen I games it was buffed with elemental status changes in Gen II till today. There is a 20% chance that it will inflict Paralyze, Burn or Freeze on the opponent.

Dodrio used Steel Wing by Altarior

Altarior is one of the around 15 artists that were invited for our first Pokémon Art Collaboration. I saw her impressive take on Hoh-Oh in February 2016 and thought that someone who draws the Pokémon with such a dedication would sure like the idea of a project that celebrates the 20th Anniversary of the first Pokémon games and also adds a new twist with the focus on illustrating the many different abilities of the first 151 Pokémon.

I  am sure she will be back for Gen II in 2017 🙂

“Strikes the target with stiff wings. Has a one-in-ten chance of raising the user’s Defense”

Steel Wing is a move that is classified as a Steel-Type move, deals damage with a Power rating of 70 and has a 10% chance of rising the Defense Stats of the user by one stage.

“The three heads express joy, sorrow and anger as they plan strategy together. When it sleeps, one head remains awake”

Yeah, I almost wonder why the real-world evolution never went this way and equipped a living being with three heads like the Dodrio has. Just think about all the positive features like always having someone to talk with, or combining the brainpower to be great in math ;-P

Yeah, let’s better not think about this one again. Anyway, the Dodrio evolves from the Doduo of course and is classified as a Normal/Flying dual type Pokemon. It has not only three heads but also three hearts and lungs as well.
