Kyogre using Ice Beam by Sarrus

Mike Williams from the UK is a part of the Game-Art-HQ community since years and created many impressively dedicated illustrations for the different Art Collaborations.  While I know him mainly as a fan of fighting games and especially Street Fighter he also participated with one Pokemon per year in this project.

Have a good look at his gallery over at dA!

Ice Beam

“An Ice-type attack. Has a one-in-ten chance of freezing the target solid”

Ice Beam is a powerful ice-type move first introduced in generation I. The user blasts an icy beam onto it’s foe, having a 10% chance of also freezing them solid. Ice Beam was TM13 in Generation before being dropped in Generation II and returning to its original TM13 from Generation III onwards.

Ice Beam is a powerful move used by Powerful Pokemon like Articuno and Tauros in Gen I, only Remoraid from Gen II is using it in our Tribute as well!

Kyogre using Water Spout by Yggdrassal

Yggdrassal from the United States is an active part of the Game-Art-HQ Community since around three years now and contributed a good couple of video game artworks that are about games that are rarely getting any attention now.

He participated with a Timesplitters 3 entry as an example and Rocket: Robots on Wheels as part of our Nintendo 64 Tribute this year. He joined the Pokémon Gen I Tribute with Dodrio in the first May week already and drew seven more of the little Gen I creatures. He also holds the record of the most submissions for our Gen II & III Pokemon tributes with not less than 11 submissions in Gen II and another 16! in our Gen III Tribute!

Besides the many artworks he did for our Pokemon Tributes you can see a lot more art of many different kinds on his gallery here!

Water Spout

“The user spouts water to damage the opposing team. The lower the user’s HP, the less powerful it becomes”

Water Spout is a Water-type move that calculates damage based off the user’s HP with a maximum power of 150 that decreases as the user’s HP depletes. The animation will also destroy stalagmites in the backgrounds of battles.

If used in a Pokemon contest the move will be seen as beautiful and you will gain an extra appeal point if Rain Dance was used beforehand. Kyogre is one of the only Pokemon that can use Water Spout alongside Wailord, Wailmer, Frillish, Jellicent, Squirtle and Remoraid.

Kyogre

“Kyogre has appeared in mythology as the creator of the sea. After long years of feuding with Groudon, it took to sleep at the bottom of the sea”
