Tropius using Synthesis by Chari-Artist

Kay, aka Chari-Artist is a cool artist from Canada who joined the Game-Art-HQ community back in 2014 already and became an important part of our big Legend of Zelda Art Collaboration, the Link’s Blacklist. In 2016 he joined our first Pokemon Tribute and continued to participate in the Generation based projects every year. He just claimed some of the Pokemon for our upcoming Gen IV Tribute already :- )

Have a good look at his whole gallery here!

Synthesis

“The user restores its own HP. The amount of HP regained varies with the weather.“

A very interesting move, Synthesis is a Grass-Type non-attacking move that heals the user with a different amount of HP depending on what type of weather at the current time. With no weather, half of the user’s health is restored, in harsh sunlight 2/3 of HP is restored and in any other weather only 1/4 is restored.

If used in a contest after using Sunny Day beforehand then the competitor can gain an extra appeal point for this setup. Skiploom is actually the first Pokemon in our Project that used the Synthesis 🙂

Tropius using Magical Leaf by Hedgey

Hedgey aka Gina from the UK  is another one of the artists that joined Game-Art-HQ in May 2016 to participate in the Pokémon Tribute. She started with a super cute take on Meowth, and also created a truly epic Ditto illustration for this project. She returned in both our Generation II and III Tributes with a couple of excellent illustrations again and is also on board on our upcoming Gen IV Project as well!

She also draws a ton of stuff including more Pokémon related art on dA, you should visit her whole gallery here!

Magical Leaf

“The foe is attacked with a strange leaf that cannot be evaded.”

Magical Leaf is a damage-dealing Grass-Type move introduced in Generation III of Pokemon.

It bypasses all accuracy levels, ensuring that the move will hit an opponent regardless of stats. Although it cannot hit an opponent when they are in Dig or Fly mode!

Bayleef was the first Pokemon in our tribute that was illustrated using the Magical Leaf move.

Tropius

“Children of the southern tropics eat as snacks the fruit that grows in bunches around the neck of Tropius. This Pokémon flies by flapping the leaves on its back as if they were wings”
