1989 was a great year with many innovative video games, including some which basically started a whole genre or expanded it to something bigger. SimCity, Prince of Persia and Populous were released on the Amiga and/or PC, Beat’em Ups like Final Fight and Golden Axe entered the arcades worldwide. Nintendo released their Game-Boy with a great launch lineup including Tetris and Super Mario Land. The PC-Engine was released in the USA and got some nice games like Bonk’s Adventure.
