2006 was a very interesting year, with new hardware in the form of the Playstation 3 and the Nintendo Wii released in November while the XB360 was released around a year before and all three systems getting a lot of games including many which were released for both the aged PS2 and the XB360. Completely new games and game series were Okami for the Playstation 2, Gears of War on the XB360, The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess and Resistance on the Playstation 3 among many more. They spawned game characters which are known till today in the form of Midna from LoZ TP and Marcus Fenix from Gears of War. The Playstation 2 was the dominant system still and got many new games like Metal Gear Solid 3, Kingdom Hearts II and Final Fantasy XII.
