1986… The players could control Simon Belmont for the first time and accompany him through the big home of Lord Dracula..Castlevania!
Today, 22 years later Simon Belmont is half forgotten since other heroes took his place in the many sequels of this classic platformer. Alucard in Castlevania SOTN, Richter Belmont in Castlevania IV and now Gabriel Belmont who turns into Dracula himself and is the main protagonist of the upcoming Castlevania Lords of Shadow 2.
I recommend everyone..really everyone to grab a copy of the original Castlevania or one of its remakes..this is a game you just HAVE to play and beat if you want to learn a lot about video game history and especially the evolution of action platformers. |
