Sub Zero from Mortal Kombat 2 

The Lin Kuei Ninja Sub Zero was thought to be killed by Scorpion in the first Mortal Kombat tournament but somehow he returned. This Sub Zero is the younger brother of the assassin who had the order to kill Shang Tsung, and now he tries to kill the sorcerer.

According to his ending, he was successful and Scorpion spared his life.

Sub Zero was a different person in the 2nd Mortal Kombat but his moveset stayed the same for the most part, he got a new attack with the “Ground Freeze” though which was reused in almost all of the later Mortal Kombat sequels.
