Phantom Ganon from Ocarina of Time

This is Phantom Ganon from Zelda: Ocarina of Time, a quite creative boss involving it riding in and out of paintings on the walls in the boss room.

Our first entry of it in Zelda OOT was drawn by WhiteFoxCub from New Zealand, she had the following to say about her entry:

“The Forest Temple is one of my favorite temples from Ocarina of Time, I loved the idea of Phantom Ganon emerging epically from a painting, hence why I chose this monster!”

Phantom Ganon OOT Fight

Phantom Ganon made it`s debut in Zelda: Ocarina of Time and has to be shoot with arrows first when it rides on the horse, after that, Link has to attack it with his sword. If you watch it carefully, it is a relative easy boss.

Phantom Ganondorf Zelda Ocarina of Time Link's Blacklist 2015

Link upon finally getting the Master Sword, finds himself 7 years older and with that a  totally different Hyrule in Zelda:Ocarina of Time.

In order to change that dark future, the hero needs to find the help of the Sages hidden in their respective temples.
Starting with the Forest Temple Link will find that once sacred ground is nothing more than a haunted place, filled with demons and ghosts. Guarding the Sage is none other than the Evil Spirit from Beyond – Phantom Ganon!

Up in that dark tower, on a closed room with walls full of paintings, the Spectre will come down from that ominous hill with sinister trees and ghostly castle behind, jumping of the picture ready to attack the Hero of Time.

With that said I think there’s no need to say that this still is one of the most memorable moments I had in videogaming. Phantom Ganon in Ocarina of Time still haunts me today as an amazingly atmospheric and brilliant gameplay wise boss battle. I love it!

As usual I draw the picture, scanned it and then used Photoshop CS2 and an Intuos  pen tablet (wacom) in order to do the inking and colouring.

Hope you guys like it!

Joel Sousa aka Joelchan from Portugal is an active member of the  Game-Art-HQ Community since we started back in 2011 with projects like the Fighting Game Boss Tribute, he contributed a good handful pieces to Link’s Blacklist alone and while is not able to draw as much as before, Joel is still a part of LB which made me happy.

His Phantom Ganon won’t be the last you see from him here for sure 🙂
