Armaldo using Ancient Power by Depeshay

Depeshay is like myself a big fan of the awesome Snatcher game as well as the similar awesome Depeche Mode and joined our Pokemon Tribute and Game-Art-HQ in 2018. She created illustrations of Armaldo and Castform for the Generation III Tribute and I look forward to see her return for our Gen IV Tribute!

Ancient Power

“An ancient power is used to attack. It may also raise all the user’s stats. “

Ancient Power is a unique Rock-Type move. While it does inflict damage on the opponent; it’s main draw seems to more or less increase the player’s stats. There is a 10% chance that the player’s Attack, Defense, Speed, Special Attack and Special Defense stats will increase through this move.

Three types of Pokemon are known to evolve from Ancient Power. Tangela will evolve into Tangrowth, Piloswine will evolve into Mamoswine, and Yanma will evolve into Yanmega respectively once knowing this move.

X-Scissor

“The user slashes at the target by crossing its scythes or claws as if they were a pair of scissors.”

X-Scissor is one of the Bug-Type Moves and was introduced in the Generation IV Pokemon Games (Diamond, Pearl, Platinum) It deals damage without any side effects and has a Power Rating of 80.  Originally Grovyle could only learn it from TM81, but from Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire onward, it can also learn the move at level 43.

It was used by not less than four of the Pokemon drawn for our Gen I Tribute while only Scizor from Gen II and now Grovyle & Armaldo from Gen III used it in our most recent Tribute!

#348 Armaldo

“Armaldo is a Pokémon species that became extinct in prehistoric times. This Pokémon is said to have walked on its hind legs, which would have been more convenient for life on land”
