Hayate is a playable character in Street Fighter EX2 (1998) who was excluded in the arcade update Street Fighter EX2 Plus (1999) but was again playable (as an unlockable character) in the Playstation version of the game.

He is a Japanese swrodsman who sealed away the demon Orochi but almost nothing about his background story and reasons to be in the game was ever shared by Arika. He uses a Katana sword for the most of his special attacks.
