The Dry Bones are a recurring enemy type from the Super Mario games that debuted in Super Mario Bros. 3 (1988) on the NES. They returned in almost all sequels and new Mario games including the many spinoff games. In Mario Party , Mario Kart and some of the Mario Sports games the Dry Bones also became playable characters.

They are skeletal versions of the Koopa Troopa and behave in general very similar, but they are undead and a normal jump won’t defeat them. They stand up after a few seconds again and continue their endless walk.
