Castlevania III: Dracula’s Curse, in Japan known as Akumajō Densetsu was first released in 1989 in Japan for the NES. It was a quite high improvement over Castlevania II graphically and especially sound technically in japan at least where the cartridge got an extra chip set to enhance the music and made more graphic effects possible. The main character was not Simon Belmont anymore, instead his ancestor Trevor, but he was not the only playable character anymore.

For the first time it was possible to control other characters like Alucard and Syphia Belnades.

Castlevania III is known as one of the best Nintendo Entertainment System games ever developed not by Nintendo themselves and till today there are old and young fans creating art to illustrate this masterpiece including the two damn great Castlevania fan artworks made for our Castlevania Tribute Project.
