Ieyasu Tokugawa is one of the playable characters in the Sengoku Basara games since he debuted in the first Sengoku Basara game as an unplayable character. Ieyasu became a playable character in Sengoku Basara 2: Heroes (2007).

He became one of the playable main protagonists in Sengoku Basara 3 and is also playable in all other games of the series up to Sengoku BASARA Sanada Yukimura-den (2016).

Ieyasu Tokugawa is one of the very few characters in the Sengoku Basara games that are fighting without using any form of weapons. Instead, he fights with his hands and has many moves you see usually in Boxing and fighting games. Ieyasu is the one who killed Hideyoshi Toyotomi and became a target for Mitsunari Ishida who wants to revenge Hideyoshi.
