The Tektites are recurring enemies in the Legend of Zelda games since the start of the series in 1986. These four-legged usually jumping spider-like creatures are not a big threat to Link but when he is confronted with a couple of them it is often better to get rid of all Tektites to avoid losing any health and also to make a few rupees.

The Tektite enemy appeared in all Legend of Zelda games up to The Legend of Zelda Oracles games in 2002, after that, they mostly made it into the handheld Zelda games.
