Eleonor Kliesen, more known as Leo is a playable character from the Tekken fighting game series by Namco and debuted in Tekken 6 (2007). Leo returned in all sequels so far including the latest game of the series, Tekken 7 (2015) where Leo was one of the first characters shown when the game hit the Japanese arcades for beta testings.

Leo is from Germany and uses the Chinese Bājíquán fighting style that is known for many moves that use the ellbow for attacks. Leo’s moveset might also be inspired by the martial art movie actor Jet Li.

Leo’s gender was unknown for a while and a topic for many heated discussions about it and Namco continues to give Leo both female and male features and even voices. Officially Eleonor is (was?) a female, but her voice was the one of a boy in the ending in Tekken Tag Tournament 2‘s console version. He /She can use items that are usually for males only while pigtails and other typically female costume parts are available for Leo as well. In Tekken 7, Leo seems to be a boy, but you never know what they do with Leo in the next Tekken 😛
