Mario Kart 64 was one of the first Nintendo 64 games that were released after the Launch Games by Nintendo. Super Mario Kart was a giant success on the Super Nintendo, and a sequel for the new system was only a matter of time. The game offered a more diverse selection of racing tracks, a few new faces like Wario from Super Mario Land 2  and became one of the best multiplayer racing games of its era, the only games that were similar fun for a long time were Diddy Kong Racing and Crash Team Racing.

Mario Kart is till today one of the biggest game IP’s by Nintendo and known as a guarantee for fun with the whole family. Including cursing the opponents after they stole your pole position with a red shell just a few metres before the finish line 🙂
