Old Man Legend of Zelda

The Old Man is a supportive and recurring NPC in the Legend of Zelda game series.

He appears right at the start of the classic Legend of Zelda (1986) and gives Link his first Sword to defend himself against the many monsters that are wandering through Hyrule. There are multiple Old Men that help Link during his adventures, and give him hints and items usually.

The last game with the Old Men character was The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords Adventures in 2004.
