Athena is the main protagonist of the Athena / Psycho Soldier Platformer games by SNK and debuted back in 1986 already. Athena made a return in a small assist striker role in The King of Fighters 2000 and three years later as a unlockable secret character in SNK vs. Capcom SVC Chaos and also in NeoGeo Battle Coliseum in 2005. Since than she also appeared in some of those Gals Island Mobile games by SNK. Athena, which is loosely based on the greek mythology was probably one of the first heroines ever in video games, and maybe the first one running around in a bikini to fight evil as well. That design promises big profit, doesn’t it? 🙂 Seriously she is a sexy design and it was great to see her as a playable character again, especially in Neo Geo Battle Coliseum |
