Umbreon used Dream Eater by CrazyInfin8

CrazyInfin8 from the USA is one of artists that joined us through this project in 2017 with his take on Umbreon.

Dream Eater

“Steals HP from a sleeping victim.”

Dream Eater is a Psychic-Type Move and was introduced in Generation I. It was used as TM Move TM42 and then returned in Generation IV as TM Move TM85. Once the target is put to sleep, a Pokemon using the Dream Eater move can steal the target’s HP while dealing 50% damage.

The move will never work if the target is fully awake. Also in Generation VI, the user cannot cast Dream-Eater if under the affects of Heal Block.

Gengar from Gen I was the first Pokemon that used the Dream Eater in our Tribute. The next user was the Umbreon from Gen II.

Umbreon used Shadow Ball by MidnightTiger8140

Flora, aka MidnightTiger8140 is one of the around 30 new artists on board the big Game-Art-HQ Pokemon Art Collaboration Series this year. Her first entry, Umbreon was hand drawn by her with traditional tools.

Another member of our community, PluivantLaChance helped us out with the process of cropping /rendering out the Umbreon for the transparent PNG file since it was drawn on paper.

Shadow Ball

“The user hurls a shadowy blob at the target. This may also lower the target’s Sp. Def stat”

The Shadow Ball attack was introduced in the Generation II Pokemon games and is a Ghost-Type move that deals not only damage but also has a 20% chance of lowering the opponents Special Defense stats by one stage.

If a Pokemon has the Bulletproof ability they will not be affected by a move such as Shadow Ball.

Five Pokemon are using the Shadow Ball in our Project currently, the first one was Kadabra from Generation I!

#197 – Umbreon

“With its black fur, it blends into the darkness. It bides its time, and when prey appears, this Pokémon goes for its throat, and then eats it.”

Umbreon, alongside Espeon during Gen II, s one of the many forms that Eevee can evolve into. Umbreon is seen as Espeon’s counterpart as they were the only 2 new Eeveelutions to be introduced during the Gold and Silver games.

Umbreon can be evolved from Eevee if levelled up during night while having a high friendship. It is known as the moonlight Pokemon and often isn’t found in the wild but is much more common in urban areas. It was the only pure Dark-type Pokemon in the whole of the second generation.

In the Pokemon anime, Ash’s rival and Professor Oak’s self-centered grandson, Gary Oak owned an Eevee for a long time that was incredibly powerful, easily taking out Ash’s Pikachu. In later episodes it was seen that Gary had evolved Eevee into an Umbreon. Umbreon became very useful while Ash and Gary were trying to turn on a power plant, using the rings on its body to light the room for them to be able to see properly while the power was out.
