Poliwrath is one of the 151 Pokemon from the first Pokemon games, Pokemon Blue, Yellow and Red first released in 1996.

Like all Pokemon, it can be found in the later Pokemon main series games as well and is also a part of some of the spinoff games like Pokemon: Mystery Dungeon and many others.

Poliwrath is one of two final forms of Poliwag; the other being Politoed. It evolves from Poliwhirl when exposed to a Water Stone.

“A more bipedal and humanoid-looking Pokemon than its earlier forms, it is a very powerful swimmer and can swim at incredible speeds. It is so proficient at swimming that no human swimmer can surpass it. (Not even Michael Phelps…) Even more amazingly, it can actually be seen running across the surface of the water briefly.”
