Maxi is one of the playable characters of the SoulCalibur fighting game series by Namco. He was one of the new characters in SoulCalibur (1998) and worked as a replacement of Li Long from the classic SoulEdge (1996). Maxi returned in all SoulCalibur main series sequels up to SoulCalibur VI (2018).

Like Li Long he uses a Nunchaku and a good couple of Long’s moves in the first SoulCalibur, like many characters that were clones or replacements when they debuted in Namco’s fighting games he used more and more completely “own” moves.

While he is not a typical “Jeet Kune Do” Bruce Lee inspired character, he uses Nunchaku moves that were seen in some of the Bruce Lee movies, some of his mannerisms are probably inspired by Bruce Lee as well.
