Venusaur used Solar Beam by Zeighous

Zeighous, aka John from the USA was one of the first artists that joined our first Pokemon Art Collaboration on the day it was announced (29th April.2016) and quicly took Venusaur. He joined other GA-HQ Projects before and created a wonderful Super Smash Bros. tribute for our Nintendo 64 20th Anniversary Project.

His gallery is full of gems to see, I recommend to have a good look at it!

“The strongest Grass-type attack. Energy is absorbed in the first turn, then fired the next turn”

The Solar Beam is a strong Grass-Type move that deals usually a lot of damage but takes two turns. In the first turn, the Pokemon has to prepare the move before it will be unleashed in the second turn. It can be prevented if the opponent used a move like Paralyze or Confusion.

Venusaur used Giga Drain by DragonchildX

DragonchildX aka Aurora from Hungary draws a lot types of different art, ranging from landscapes to human characters, fan art and now also two of the 151 classic Pokémon with Raticate being the first one, drawn in May already and Dewgong (with the Aurora Beam…!) in August.

I look forward to see more of this talented artist when we start our next art collaborations in 2017!

“A nutrient-draining attack. The user’s HP is restored by half the damage taken by the target”

Giga Drain is another  powerful damage-dealing Grass-Type move and was introduced in the Gen II Pokemon games. It deals not only damage but will also heal the user with 50% of the taken damage. Since the Gen VI games, it can not be used anymore if your Pokemon is under the effects of Heal Block.

“The plant blooms when it is absorbing solar energy. It stays on the move to seek sunlight”

The Venusaur is the final evolution of Bulbasaur and truly a giant in comparison with the small starter Pokemon from the classic games. It was the mascot on the covers of Pokemon Green and its remake LeafGreen and appeared in many episodes of the anime series and some of the movies as well. The Solar Beam is the final move it learns trough levelling btw.
