“Strikes the foe with a bone in hand 2 to 5 times.”

The Bone-Rush is a multi-striking Ground-Type move that hits the opponent 2 to 5 times. It has a 90% chance of landing a hit each time so it’s very hard to avoid. Each strike also has an equal chance of landing a critical hit as well.

Altarior is one of the around 15 artists that were invited for our first Pokémon Art Collaboration. I saw her impressive take on Hoh-Oh in February 2016 and thought that someone who draws the Pokémon with such a dedication would sure like the idea of a project that celebrates the 20th Anniversary of the first Pokémon games and also adds a new twist with the focus on illustrating the many different abilities of the first 151 Pokémon.

I  am sure she will be back for Gen II in 2017 🙂

“The user slams the target with its steel-hard head. It may also make the target flinch.”

Iron Head is a Steel-Type move where the Pokemon head butts its opponent with a steel coated head slam. There is also a 30% this will make the opponent flinch and give the player an extra turn.

“Always wears the skull of its deceased mother on its head and never shows its face. It cries mournfully in the moonlight”

Cubone is a Ground-Type Pokemon that resembles a Charmander wearing a skull mask. It evolves into Marowak at Level 28. And as of Pokemon Moon/Sun; it will evolve into Alolan Marowak when leveled up to Level 28 at night.

Like most Pokedex entries; the story behind the Cubone is dark and depressing. (Perhaps too much for the anime hence why changes are made.) It apparently wears the skull of its deceased mother on its head; and as such is reminded of her. Hence why it keeps its face covered the whole time and cries over her. Definitely undermines the comedic tone of the anime. As if that weren’t dark enough, in Lavender Town it lives in complete isolation where deceased Pokemon are buried and can be heard crying at the moon during the night.
