Mankey used Leer by TamarinFrog and by PluivantLaChance

TamarinFrog aka Tammy from Finland is a Game-Art-HQ member since years already and participated in many of our art collaborations already, Mankey is her only contribution to the Pokemon Tribute while PluviantLaChance from the USA joined GA-HQ with his takes on Clefairy, Geodude and finally Mankey.

Both taking the same move was a funny coincidence, it happened only twice for all 151 Pokemon and is a nice example to see how different it is illustrated by different artists that use of course not the same style and methods to draw a character!

“The foe is given an intimidating leer with sharp eyes. The target’s Defense stat is reduced.“

Leer is a Normal-Type move introduced in Generation I. Used by a great multitude of Pokemon, Leer is an intimidating move used to lower an opponent’s defense.

The move can be used multiple times to decrease the opponents’ defense stats by one level. In future Double Battles of subsequent Generations, both opponents are affected by this move. However in Triple Battles, it will only hit the Pokemon closest to the user.

“An agile Pokémon that lives in trees. It angers easily and will not hesitate to attack anything.“

Mankey is a Fighting-Type Pokemon that behaves as wildly as it looks. It evolves into Primeape starting at Level 28

Ill-tempered and easily provoked, Mankey will not hesitate to fight anything that wanders into its territory. What makes it more dangerous is when it appear in groups. For if one Mankey gets violent, the others will begin getting violent as well. Its size certainly doesn’t hinder it; considering it is among the smallest of Fighting-Type Pokemon.
