Nidorina used Fury Swipes by Tigryph

Kelly A. Bornstedt aka Tigryph from the USA joined our Pokémon Tribute in August after she saw one of the submissions by Skysparrow for it. She could not resist and claimed not only Nidorina but also the lovely Slowpoke with the not so lovely Psychic move. Kelly draws a lot of Pokemon related art, I recommend to have a look at her gallery here!

“The target is scratched by sharp claws two to five times in quick succession.“

Fury Swipes is a multi-strike Normal-Type move introduced in Generation I. It shares similarities with another move called Fury Attack.

The user of this move strikes the opponent 2-5 in succession with its sharp claws. Though the number of swipes vary per use; the chance of landing a Critical Hit can only happen on the first swipe.

Nidorina used Helping Hands by Stephanie “Jesteppi” Hennen

Stephanie Hennen from the USA joined our Pokémon  Tribute in May already. She drew Machoke and later Marowak and Ekans for it in the following weeks, I look forward to see her returning for more in 2017 when we continue with the Gen II Pokémon!

“A move that boosts the power of the ally’s attack in a battle.“

A team oriented move, Helping Hands is a Normal-Type non-attacking move introduced Generation III.

Most effective in Double Battles, Helping Hands boosts the attack power of the User’s ally in the heat of battle. It can still assist Pokemon off-screen in Fly or Dig status.

“The female’s horn develops slowly. Prefers physical attacks such as clawing and biting”

Nidorina is the evolved form of Female Nidoran starting at Level 16. It can evolve into Nidoqueen if exposed to a Moon Stone.

Like Female Nidoran, it is a blue colored rodent-like Pokemon that is exclusively female. It still maintains the same lethal nature of its Poison-Type moves and toxic secretions just like the Female Nidoran. As such; it only does this when threatened. However, unlike both genders of Nidoran; Nidorina cannot breed.
