Butterfree used Confusion by 3Paula3

Paula is a student from Spain that joined our community just recently and the Pokémon Gen I Tribute was the first GA-HQ Art collaboration for her. I believe she draws some very cute stuff which can be seen in her dA gallery here and hope she will return next year when we continue our big project in April.

“The foe is hit by a weak telekinetic force. It may also leave the foe confused”

Confusion is a Psychic-Type move that got introduced in the Gen I games already and deals not only damage to the opponents, it has also a 10% chance of confusing the enemy. It is one of the first abilities a Butterfree can learn.

Butterfree used Sleep Powder by 13alrog

13alrog joined GA-HQ recently as well and our Pokémon Tribute was the main reason I guess. but he also participated in our July 2016 Art Challenge with a take on Vega (Balrog in Japan btw.) in his design from Street Fighter V. The theme of this challenge was to draw video games that were released this year. Beside Butterfree, he also drew Kakuna, Hitmonlee and Pidgeot for our Project already. I recommend to visit his gallery on dA as well which you can find here.

“A sleep-inducing dust is scattered in high volume around a foe”

The Sleep Powder is a move mostly used by the Grass-type Pokémon but Butterfree can learn it too since the first Generation games already. It is a non-damage dealing move that puts the opponent to sleep for multiple rounds which can be super useful sometimes during a battle.

Since the Gen. III games, the Sleep Powder is not effective anymore if the opponent has the Insomnia or Vital Spirit ability.

“In battle, it flaps its wings at high-speed to release highly toxic dust into the air”

Butterfree is a dual-type Bug/Flying Pokémon and the final evolution of Caterpie. It looks very similar to a Butterfly on first sight but actually it has just two body segments and where a real insect has legs, those from the Butterfree are more looking like hands.
