Goenitz is the final boss in the fighting game The King of Fighters’96. He was defeated and committed suicide.Goenitz is an unlockable character in KOF’96 and SNK made him return as a playable character in the Xbox and Playstation 2 versions of The King of Fighters 2002.

They made Goenitz an unlockable boss character in the remakes The King of Fighters’98: Ultimate Match ( 2008) and The King of Fighters 2002: Unlimited Match (2009) and the crossover game SNK vs Capcom SVC Chaos (2003). In the King of Fighters 2000 he had a minor role as a striker for Leona.

Goenitz is also the Stage 4 boss in KOF Sky Stage (2010) and Neo Geo Heroes: Ultimate Shooting (2010)

Goenitz was one of the Hakkeshu (Orochi’s Servants) like Mature and Vice that can still visit the mortal realm. He can control the Wind element and use it for many attacks.
