Linkle is a new character for the upcoming Nintendo 3Ds Port/Upgrade of Hyrule Warriors. She is like a female version of Link but is actually a completely new character and not just a genderswap. Fans are totally loving her already and a few writers on gaming sites want her to be a choice for players in the next big Zelda games already. I myself think that’s a bit too far and the story should always be about Link. Linkle however could be a nice side protagonist or get her own game, but maybe that’s just me.
