Goro from Mortal Kombat in the GA-HQ Video Game Character DB

Goro is a mid-boss character and also playable sometimes from the Mortal Kombat fighting games. He debuted as an unplayable mid-boss in the first Mortal Kombat (1992) as the only character not animated through a real actor, instead a sculpture was used. Goro became playable for the first time in Mortal Kombat Trilogy (1996) and returned as a mid-boss which was unlockable this time in Mortal Kombat 4 (1997). When Midway games ported Mortal Kombat Deception to the Nintendo Gamecube in 2005 they added both Goro and Shao Kahn as playable characters from the start, it was the first time that Goro was not overpowered in comparison to the other characters. He returned in Mortal Kombat Armageddon (2006) and was again an unplayable boss character in Mortal Kombat 9 (2011) In Mortal Kombat X (2015), Goro is again a playable character and was a pre-order bonus when the game launched. Goro, the Shokan Warrior from Outworld is one of the most popular fighting game boss characters alongside Shao Kahn and M.Bison today. |
