The Koopa Troopa’s are an enemy type in the Super Mario Bros. series since the first game in 1985 and returned in almost all sequels and spinoff’s up to Paper Mario: The Origami King (2020) on the Nintendo Switch. The first playable Koopa Troopa debuted as one of the racers in Super Mario Kart (1992). Koopa Troopa’s were also playable in some of the Mario Kart sequels, Mario Party games, and the Mario Sports spinoff games. The turtle-like Koopa Troopa’s are usually loyal soldiers of Bowser and other antagonists in the Mario games, but there are also some friendly individuals among them. Their shells can be powerful weapons in the Super Mario (Kart) games. |
