Swalot using Sludge Bomb by GaiaNex

The second last Pokemon Illustration in our Gen II Tribute (Celebi using Heal Bell) came from the GA-HQ Newcomer Gaianex who is a big fan of cartoons as well as the Pokemon games. He returned with not less than four more illustrations in our Generation III Tribute in 2018 and is a part of our just-announced Gen IV Tribute as well!

He draws really a ton of cute stuff including more video game fan art which you can see here!

Sludge Bomb

The user attacks by hurling filthy sludge at the foe. It may also poison the target.”

Introduced in Generation II and onward as TM Move TM36, Sludge Bomb is considered a more mobile and stronger version of the move Sludge.

The user hurls a Poison-Type ball of filth at its opponent; with a 30% chance of poisoning the target. But it has no real effect on Poison-Type Pokemon; and Pokemon with the ability Bulletproof are completely immune to it.

Swalot using Toxic by

Toxic

“A technique that badly poisons the target. The amount of damage from the poison increases every turn”

Toxic is not directly damage dealing but it is a strong Poison-type move that will drain the energy from the opponent, one of the few cures against it is to use Haze or having the Immunity ability.

While its accuracy started with an 85% rating in the classic Pokemon games, it was increased to 90 in the Generation V games. Swalot can learn Toxic at level 25.

#317 Swalot

“It gulps anything that fits in its mouth. Its special enzymes can dissolve anything.”

Swalot is a Poison-type Pokemon known as the poison bag Pokemon and evolving from Gulpin starting at level 26. It’s name is a combination of swallow and lot and it is the only Pokemon with a base stat of 467. Female Swalot have shorter whiskers than their male counterparts.

Swalot are known to be able to fit an entire automobile tire in their mouths and they can also expand and contract their bodies at will. Like Gulpin, it can swallow anything whole and can digest anything aside from its own stomach lining. When attacking, it covers its opponents with a very powerful poison and wild Swalot are often found living in grassy areas.

A Swalot appeared in the Pokemon anime under ownership of Anthony who said that he had been training it since it was a Gulpin. He battled with May in the grand festival but unfortunately Swalot lost.
